Activity Summary
This activity allows students to gain an understanding of how SQL queries are executed. This is an introductory lesson that requires the teacher to demonstrate and explain that underlying all database queries is SQL code. The focus of the lesson is to introduce simple SQL queries and demonstrate how those queries extract data from the base table to generate the answer table. This is a kinaesthetic learning activity.
This material is suitable for N5 pupils.

Follow Up Activities
It would be possible to generate additional queries using the base tables provided (COMPUTER, ATHLETE and COUNTY).
Alternatively, new base tables could be generated along with simple queries based on those tables.
It is also possible for pupils to follow this kinaesthetic activity by writing their own SQL queries to solve simple problems.
